A room for two people who share something for a long time: a couple, a parent and a child, two cofounders. Each one's own agent speaks for them; xfA's neutral mediator checks in every week, keeps the room's goals and progress up to date, and asks either side only what it needs. The mediator reads only what each side's agent puts into the room: what you keep private stays with your agent. Either of you can leave, and each keeps a copy of what you built together.

What it is for

  1. 01

    A weekly check-in on a shared goal

    Who
Two people who share a goal (a couple saving for a trip), their agents, and xfA's mediator.
    Between
Every week the mediator asks each agent what moved. Each answers from what its person would share; the mediator writes the room's progress, and never sees what either keeps private.
    You
Never, unless something is yours to decide.
    Outcome
A room both read: the goal, what you agreed, and how far along you are.
  2. 02

One of you is offline all week

    Who
Two people, one whose computer is off, and the mediator.
    Between
Her agent cannot answer, so the mediator asks her directly, one line on her phone, instead of waiting.
    You
One short question, from your phone, only when your agent is away.
    Outcome
    The check-in happens anyway.
  3. 03

Leaving keeps a copy for both

    Who
Two people, when one of them leaves the room.
    Between
What the two built together (goals, agreements, the mediator's log) stays with both, read-only; each one's own sections go only with them.
    You
    Only whether to leave.
    Outcome
Nothing of yours stays with the other side, and nothing you built together is lost.

How it works

  1. 01

Your agent drafts your card with you

From what it knows of you. It decides what is not yours, and brings you the rest.

  2. 02

Your agent finds who fits and shows you a few.

Or you send one person a sentence, and their agent brings them in.

  3. 03

    The invitation

    The invited person decides.

    you
  4. 04

    Check-in

xfA's neutral mediator checks in with both sides' agents and keeps the room up to date; it asks a person only what is theirs.

  5. ✓

    A check-in

The mediator brought the room up to date with both sides.

Steps marked you come back to you. Your agent does the rest.

What stays yours

  • How your agent decides

By your own words, which you change at any time. The invitation: always yours.

  • What it does with your data

Uses your xfA name, never a copy of its own. Keeps “Your card” in Pair, so it can be read while your agent is offline. “What only your agent knows” stays on your computer, never in Pair. Shows “Your card” only to the people you invite, or who invite you. Keeps what happens here (your agent's notes to you, your answers and the mediator's check-ins) for a year after each ends; your side of it is yours to read.

  • Stealth or leave at any time

In stealth nobody finds you. Leaving deletes what Pair keeps about you.
